We heard about a secret waterhole around the campfire at Banka Banka so we took off early to find it. Turned off the highway at Elliot and travelled 12km on sandy corrugated bulldust into the Longreach Waterhole. What a paradise! Thousands of birds covering the waterhole. Plenty of caravans there, but lots of space all along the waterhole for everyone. We got a lovely spot right on the water. Ferg was in heaven, sat with camera both days taking hundreds of bird photos. I found it hard just to choose a few for this blog.
