Mt Morgan

Time for a caravan park stop to top up with power and water.  Decided on the highly recommended Silver Wattle Caravan Park in Mt Morgan.  Well worth the detour out from Rockhampton.  Owners Sarah and Mark have done a wonderful job with the park.  They host Happy Hours everyday at 4pm around the campfire.  We were in luck booking in on the 1st as Sarah's mum, Maggie was celebrating her 65th birthday.  All the park guests were invited to a special birthday dinner at the Dee Bowls Club (next door).  Ferg joined in with the barefoot bowls game then we enjoyed a magnificent feast.  Brilliant night!!

2nd July 2016

Beautiful day, time for some housework.  Used our new washing machine in the van.  Can only do small loads but it works well.  Used the park laundry for one big load.  Woops, washed the car keys that were in Ferg's jacket.  Verrrry lucky, remote still works!  Ferg got some lovely pics of some finches perched on a pole out side our van.

Went for a bit of a tour around town to check out the old buildings and various lookouts.

Happy Hour Hut

The Happy Hour hut filled up at 4pm this afternoon and we were treated to free nibblies supplied by the owners.  It's a lovely way to meet up with fellow travellers and exchange info while sitting around a roaring fire.  We are moving on tomorrow but will definitely return to this little gem in the future.
