Mt Field National Park

1st - 2nd March 2017

Where did February go?  On the move again today heading south east through Queenstown, towards Hobart. Just out of Queenstown we stopped at Nelson Falls.  A lovely short walk through the rainforest to another spectacular waterfall.

On the road again past the hydro towns of Tarraleah and Wayatinah.  Didn't stop here as we had visited these towns last time we were in Tassie.  Decided instead to take a detour off the main road out to Mt Field National Park.  Arrived late afternoon and set up in the park campground.  Got a great site overlooking the river.  Next morning Ferg did the walks to Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls.  I was quite happy to enjoy the river in front of the van. Had enough waterfalls for the moment!!

We left mid morning for Hobart.  Set up camp in Bill and June's backyard, up on the hill overlooking the Derwent River.  Beautiful!
